In the age of a climate emergency, the global race to net zero emissions has never been more urgent. With buildings and construction accounting for some 40% of global emissions, the built sector is pivotal in the transition towards a low-carbon future.
In February 2021, CDL became the first real estate developer in Singapore to join the World Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment. With unwavering leadership commitment from the Board and top management for over two decades, we are poised to forge ahead in the new climate economy and build a better world for future generations.
CDL’s Integrated Sustainability Report 2022 is our fifteenth sustainability report since 2008. Themed “Zero in on Future Value”, the digital report communicates CDL’s progress towards our material ESG goals and targets, established under the CDL Future Value 2030 sustainability blueprint. Since 2009, CDL’s sustainability reports have been externally assured. ISR 2022 has been externally assured against GRI and SASB Standards under reasonable assurance, and TCFD and CDSB frameworks under limited assurance. CDL is the first Singapore company to externally assure its TCFD framework.
The built sector has a crucial impact on the environment and society. As an expansion of our sustainability commitments, we have aligned our ESG efforts with 14 relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) out of 17.
