In the age of a climate emergency, the global race to net zero emissions has never been more urgent. With buildings and construction accounting for some 40% of global emissions, the built sector is pivotal in the transition towards a low-carbon future.
In February 2021, CDL became the first real estate developer in Singapore to join the World Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment. With unwavering leadership commitment from the Board and top management for over two decades, we are poised to forge ahead in the new climate economy and build a better world for future generations.

Watch our Youth4Climate Concert 2021 on Facebook here. Featuring an opening by President Halimah Yacob and seven wonderful acts by youths sharing their passion for green and social causes, CDL will donate $10 to the President’s Challenge for every unique share.
We have published our Integrated Sustainability Report 2021, our fourteenth sustainability report since 2008. Themed “Advancing Change Resilience”, the digital report communicates CDL’s progress towards our material ESG goals and targets, established under the CDL Future Value 2030 sustainability blueprint. Aligned with global climate goals, the blueprint has remained effectively integrated into our business strategies and operations despite unprecedented challenges in 2020 posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The built sector has a crucial impact on the environment and society. As an expansion of our sustainability
commitments, we have aligned our ESG efforts with 14 relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) out of 17.

Youths today are the leaders of tomorrow. Recognising that they play a pivotal role in a sustainable future, CDL strives to engage, educate and empower youths in the battle against the climate crisis. Everyone can make a big difference, no matter how young.
In support of World Environment Day 2021, CDL and NLB jointly organised the second edition of We Love Our Planet Storytelling Contest. We were elated to receive some 150 impressive submissions this year!
A big congratulations to all our winners, who were unveiled on World Nature Conservation Day. To view the winning entries, click here.
