About CDL-GCNS Young SDG Leaders Award

Sustainability has become a mainstream business agenda. With the 2022 Global Risks Perception Survey by the World Economic Forum ranking “climate action failure” as the number one risk, we need all hands on deck to mitigate the effects of climate change. The Singapore Green Plan 2030 is a nationwide, ambitious, long-term plan that aims to enhance the country’s economic, climate and resource resilience while also improving the lives of those residing in Singapore and beyond. Climate action within borders can reverberate across boundaries, and global challenges such as poverty, climate change, biodiversity and gender inequality can be tackled through the convergence of will and commitment of businesses, governments, and communities.

We believe that the youths today can shape the world of tomorrow by driving innovative business solutions and demand for responsible products.

Are you aspiring to drive change in our society and accelerate businesses’ commitment to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? If you believe that businesses can do good for the community and the environment while doing well financially, the CDL-GCNS Young SDG Leaders Awards is for you!

Jointly organised by City Developments Limited (CDL) and Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), this annual case competition offers young people a platform to champion sustainable development and SDG integration into business for positive change.

Previously known as the CDL-GCNS Young CSR Leaders Award, the competition has nurtured over 2,400 young leaders since inception in 2011. By aligning with the global goals for sustainable development, the Award seeks to educate and empower young leaders with SDG knowledge and skills, while inspiring companies in Singapore to take concrete actions for the SDGs.
