ABOUT INCUBATOR FOR SDGS AND EB IMPACT YOUTH INNOVATION HUB
In support of social enterprises with purpose that are aligned with one more SDGs, the Incubator For SDGs at Republic Plaza was launched in 2019, in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise (raiSE) and Social Collider. It provided rent-free workspaces for selected social enterprises, start-ups and scale-ups for a year. These companies were able to tap into an extensive network of management experts to help them scale up and reach out to potential investors and markets. To align with CDL’s low-carbon vision, 70% of the fitting out materials were made from sustainable sources or recycled materials.
In 2021, the Company partnered with Global Green Economic Foundation (GGEF), an experienced impact investing accelerator with global connections. Winning teams from the GGEF SDG Open Hack were invited to the Incubator and were provided access to industry mentorship to finetune their business ideas, with a possibility to present their progress for funding and/or investor feedback.
After two years of supporting impact innovators at the Incubator For SDGs, Global Green Economic Forum continued the partnership on mentorship and impact investment at Republic Plaza while EB Impact moved into the Incubator For SDGs space in July 2024. EB Impact is a non-profit organisation focused on delivering training and programmes to Asia Pacific’s underserved communities to generate positive sustainable development impact. Unveiled by CDL and EB Impact, The Hub, which serves as EB Impact’s new home, will be a dedicated space for the non-profit’s wide range of programmes, including its flagship Sustainability Exchange youth mentorship initiative, networking opportunities, mentorship meetings, engagements and events that empower individuals to address critical sustainability challenges.
