YOUTH4CLIMATE FESTIVAL 2019

Launched from 20 July to 21 July 2019

The second edition of CDL’s Youth4Climate Festival attracted about 2,000 people over the course of two days at various locations within Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Highlights

“Moana” Movie Screening

Located at the Eco Lake, the closing of the Youth4Climate Festival 2019 featured a movie screening of Disney’s “Moana”, which delved into the topic of climate change and man’s relationship with Mother Nature. Attendees were able to enjoy free flow popcorn and candy floss while under the stars with their families and friends.

Youth4Climate Treasure Hunt

Featuring Singapore’s bicentennial-inspired games, this treasure hunt also taught families and children the five key heritage sites around the Singapore Botanic Gardens and reasons why climate action is critical to preserve the world we have.

Youth4Climate Concert

Located at the Shaw Foundation Symphony stage, the concert featured a 150-strong combined school choir and angklung ensemble from participating primary and secondary schools, young musical proteges such as Jacob Cheng, performers from Dancecare and a song medley performed by song duo, Uber Duber! Attendees received attractive door gifts and also enjoyed free-flow popcorn and candy floss.

Climate Action Workshop

Aspiring eco champions between the ages of 18 and 35 got the chance to learn how to launch a successful climate action campaign with the help of Anna Oposa, CDL E-Generation Challenge 2018 Winner, Chief Mermaid and Co-Founder of Save Philippines Sea, a non-profit focussed on protecting and restoring the Philippine’s coastal and marine resources, as well as the Seastainable Founder, Samantha Thian, who channels retail business profits to support marine conservation in Singapore and around SE Asia.
