RETRIEVE RACE RESULTS

The second SDG City Challenge 2019 was attended by over 2,000 participants, including employees, family members and friends of CDL and organising partners such as the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Health Promotion Board (HPB) and Sport Singapore (ActiveSG). An extensive 3P collaboration involving 14 organising and supporting partners as well as 30 vendors and operators showcasing sustainable and healthy products, the Challenge aims to promote a green, active and healthy lifestyle, while raising awareness of the UN SDGs.

The event brought together participants of varying ages and fitness levels, segregated into different race categories, to tackle an 800-metre run followed by a vertical climb up 34 storeys at South Beach Tower, a BCA Green Mark Platinum building and an obstacle course. There was also a fun-filled Eco Treasure Hunt, perfect for team and family-bonding, at City Square Mall, Singapore’s first eco-mall. To build inclusiveness, a new non-competitive ‘Fun’ category was also introduced this year, which saw younger children, senior citizens and persons with disabilities crossing the finish line. Ms Grace Fu, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth graced the event and helped to flag off the C-Suite Category of the challenge.

Additionally, a carnival with more than 30 booths showcasing health and environment conscious products ran alongside fun-filled workshops and workouts by specialised trainers from 9am to 6pm. The Singaporean Sign Language beginner’s course, flower arrangement workshop and Masala Bhangra workout were among some of the highly popular activities.

CDL is proud to partner ActiveSG, SportCares, Health Promotion Board, the Building and Construction Authority and other like-minded partners, to promote a green, active and healthy lifestyle in a highly urbanised city like Singapore. We also want to raise awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that complement our nation’s Sustainable Singapore Blueprint and Green Building Masterplan.

This year, to be more inclusive, we are adding a special non-competitive ‘Fun Race’ category for families with young kids, the less abled and active senior citizens to participate. There will also be a carnival showcasing healthy and sustainable lifestyle activities and products that will run till 6.00pm at South Beach.

The SDG City Challenge will offer a host of exciting activities, including a 800m walk/jog and a 34-storey vertical climb at the South Beach Office Tower, BCA Green Mark Platinum building. A fun-filled treasure hunt, perfect for team and family-bonding, will be held at City Square Mall, Singapore’s first eco-mall.
