Singapore Young Photographer Awards
The only national award for Singapore photographers between the ages of 13 and 25, the CDL Singapore Young Photographer Awards (SYPA) was initiated by CDL and spearheaded by CDL’s late Deputy Chairman, Mr Kwek Leng Joo. Born from his passion for photography and belief in youth development, SYPA was launched in 2005 in celebration of Singapore’s 40th birthday. It aims to promote the art of photography among young Singaporeans while recognising and nurturing promising talent.
Following a brief hiatus during COVID-19, SYPA returned in 2025 with a renewed focus on inspiring the next generation of photographers, encouraging them to capture meaningful stories and perspectives that reflect the evolving social and environmental landscape.
