YOUTH4CLIMATE FESTIVAL 2024

13 and 14 July

HIGHLIGHTS

The 5th Y4C Concert kicked off with opening remarks from DPM Mr Heng Swee Keat, who thanked CDL for bringing the Festival to the Heartlands for the first time.

The concert then started with a catchy “Go Green SG Jingle” performance, written and performed by Go Green Singapore Ambassadors and Singaporean Influencers, Annette Lee and Glenn Yong.

This year’s concert showcased an exciting line-up of singing, dancing and instrumental acts by talented youths, as well as a storytelling session from winners of CDL’s 2024 “We Love Our Planet” Storytelling Contest.

Y4C 2024’s specially curated line-up of eco educational and hands-on workshops educated guests on taking climate action and experience eco-conscious living.

Amongst CDL’s workshop partners were EB Impact, City Sprouts, The Fashion Pulpit, Stridy, Tembusu CSR, and Alpha Fitness, who covered topics on creative writing, sustainable fashion, upcycling, food waste and food security, importance of mental well-being and an active lifestyle, and more.

With a growing community of sustainable green vendors in Singapore, the Eco- Marketplace featured over 30 sustainable vendors who are passionately dedicated to promoting sustainability and eco-conscious living.

Vendors featured this year include:

  • handmadebyGladys: Fabric crafts that showcase creativity and sustainability.
  • Darifarida: Eco-friendly apparels and accessories designed with minimal environmental impact.
  • Alfya Atelier: Upcycled bags and pouches made from large fabric scraps, promoting repurposing and sustainability.

Zootopia and Big Hero 6 were screened to encourage viewers to learn more about the impact of climate challenges, interconnected ecosystems, and technology and innovation.

Delectable food booths providing free snacks such as popcorn, ice cream, candy floss and hotdog buns were available for guests to enjoy with the movies.
