Recognising that female empowerment is crucial for the advancement of climate action, CDL created Women4Green in 2017. A platform dedicated to capacity-building and collaboration amongst female leaders, executives and youths to catalyse positive change towards a more sustainable future for all, Women4Green has had the privilege of working with and supporting a strong nexus of women across various industries. Many inspiring women have played a leading role in driving the global climate agenda and will continue to forge paths for generations to come. Women4Green aspires to unearth more female champions amongst male-dominated industries to advocate sustainable practices at work, at home and at play.

Women account for half of the world’s population. One should never underestimate the unique female power and influence. Speaking from the perspective of a working mother and sustainability practitioner, there is abundant evidence that women’s full participation in climate policies leads to not only fairer but better results on the international level. Women’s intuition coupled with motherly instinct can often add a sensitive balance and value to some hardheaded policies.

I strongly believe that creating and expanding opportunities for women are fundamental to sustainable growth and beneficial to societies and humanity at large. Unleashing the power of women can drive change in building a more sustainable future for our children and future generations to come.
